High-performance acoustic underlayment

Our most popular underlayment, DeciBLOK provides great support, sound insulation and durability for flooring. DeciBLOK™ acoustic wood, engineered wood, and laminate floor cushion, is composed of a lightweight, cellular sponge rubber mat, that is layered between two polyester non-woven films. It is designed to reduce flooring noise by dampening impact effects and by isolating sounds to the room where they are created. It is antimicrobial and non-allergenic; plus it inhibits and retards micro-organisms, odors, mold and mildew.

DeciBLOK's good memory prevents compression, and its low R-value makes it ideal for floating floor installations over radiant heat. It can also be glued down for even better sound quality and further reduction of impact noise.

DeciBLOK is very easy to use; simply roll it out and cut it with a razor blade to fit the room. It has a slight rubber smell when first out of the package, but this goes away and leaves no trace once covered with a floor. Completely non-toxic, it doesn't contribute to indoor air pollution. CRI Green Label Certified for indoor air quality.

Why we like it

We've used this for 15 years underneath our radiant-heated floating floor. It doesn't compress, crumble, disintegrate or out-gas like most foam pads. It also allows heat to easily pass through.
