Quiet, Warm and Environmentally sound Underlayment - 6mm roll
NovaCork Underlayment is a non-toxic thermal & acoustic insulator that minimizes sound transmission from floor to ceiling on second floor applications and heat and cold transfer on ground floor applications. 1/4" thick cork underlayment is often required by most condo or apartment associations as the product of choice under hardwood floors, floating floors, laminate floors, marble, ceramic and most all other hard surface flooring.
NovaCork underlayment must be glued down with an appropriate adhesive. We recommend our Forbo L885, HealthyBond MS adhesive, or AFM SafeCoat 3in1 Adhesive. All will work well. Please follow manufacturers step-by-step instructions as each adhesive may be slightly different.
Apply NovaCork underlayment over all subfloors provided they are clean, dry, level and free of coating that might bleed through. If there are potential moisture issues, we recommend sealing the floor with our GBS Penetrating Sealer first and then using an underlayment with a built in moisture barrier such as our CorkShield, SCI Titanium, or QuietWalk. All can be ordered from Green Building Supply.
For even greater sound protection cork underlayment is also available in 6mm and 12mm thickness sheets.
Why we like it
